Der erste große Schnee verwandelt Meadowland in ein Winterparadies. Doch zwischen eingefrorenen Brunnen, Stallproblemen und Weihnachtsmarkt bleibt Josh kaum Zeit zum Durchatmen.
When I stepped outside in the morning, everything was covered in a thick, white blanket of snow.
Gillian: “Yay, it snowed!!! I’m going to check right away if everything on the ranch is okay.”
The hay on the paddock was also buried under a thick layer of snow.
Gillian: “Oh you poor things, you can’t even reach the hay anymore… Josh!!! We need a hay rack on the paddock!”
I wanted to get water, but the well was completely frozen.
Gillian: “Damn it, everything’s frozen… Josh!!! The well is frozen. Can you take care of that, please?”
The outdoor stalls were open at the front and back, so snow had blown straight into the boxes.
Gillian: “It’s snowing right inside… Josh!!! You need to put up a tarp at the back of the outdoor stable. Snow’s getting in and there’s a draft!”
I really felt like going for a ride in the snow. Just as I was about to head out, Josh showed up.
Josh: “And what are you doing now?”
Gillian: “Going for an amazing ride in the snow. Oh — and don’t forget, Field has an appointment with the farrier at noon.”
It must have been at least 30 centimeters of fresh snow. Everything was sparkling in the sunlight. Oh right — the driveways still needed to be cleared. I should tell Josh that too… better call him right away. In Firgrove, people told me the Christmas market had opened and was supposed to be especially beautiful. I really wanted to see it. Since I didn’t want to go alone, I asked Josh.
Gillian: “The ride was so amazing! There’s a Christmas market in the Winter Village. Will you go with me? Please… I’ll even treat you to mulled wine. Please…!”
Josh: “Missy, I put up the tarp, set up a hay rack on the paddock, took Field to the farrier, and now I’m dealing with the frozen well. I’m really tired! … Alright, fine — but not for long.”
The Christmas market was truly beautiful. We looked at everything and drank mulled wine.
Gillian: “There’s a photo booth over there — we have to go!”
Josh: “I’m tired, I’m cold… but after that, we’re leaving.”
The photo booth was a giant snow globe you could step into. I had bought a reindeer antler headband and absolutely had to put it on. Josh looked at me, exhausted…
Josh: “Oh man… I knew something was coming. You’re really crazy…”
Gillian: “Say cheese, Josh!”
