No horse at Meadowland ever simply fades into the background. Each of them has their own character, their own story, and their own place on the ranch.
Field was once one of the loan horses at Moorland Stables and became Gillian’s horse during her very first visit to Jorvik. When Thomas Moorland had to sell, Gillian bought him — her first horse of her own.
Antino was trained up to medium-level dressage and was very successful there. Instead of selling him to a late interested buyer, Gillian bought him herself — and learned a great deal from him about dressage.
Jamie gave Magica to Gillian for her 25th birthday. The young mare has been lightly started under saddle and is meant to continue her training with Gillian in various Spanish riding styles.
Jamie discovered Epico while traveling through Spain and knew at once that he would become his horse. He is training him for ranch work — something this breed is especially well suited for.
Snap was the last show jumping horse Jamie bought before stepping away from professional sport. After the fire in the stable, he was never quite the same again and, like Coffee, came to Meadowland for therapy.
Coffee was one of Jamie’s great show jumping horses. After a fire in the stable, she suffered severe trauma and was brought to Meadowland for therapy.
Robin was trained in western riding and became Jamie’s balance to the world of show jumping, which he had followed more out of duty than joy. With Robin, Jamie found his love for riding again.
Dizzy arrived at Meadowland together with other Icelandic horses that were meant to be sold. Jamie spent a lot of time with them — and rather impulsively decided to buy Dizzy himself.
King comes from the breeding program of Jarla Equestrian. Claire bought him from her parents when he was only a year old and trained him herself — with great success in national and international show jumping.
Hyacinth was originally meant for breeding at Jarla Equestrian, but was supposed to shine in jumping first. Claire realized early on that the mare’s talents lay elsewhere — and took her over herself.
Claire bought Archer on impulse at a western horse auction. After freeing herself from the pressure of professional sport, Archer became her partner for a new beginning.
Pearl Hart was meant to become a ranger horse in Dundull, but she was too shy for the role. Josh found her again in the forest and immediately felt a special connection to her.
Domino originally came to Meadowland for therapy. George Meadowland quickly realized that the horse was never the real problem, bought him — and Domino became one of the ranch’s working horses.
Foxy once belonged to George Meadowland and came to the ranch as a horse no one could ride. With patience, he became a reliable partner — and now enjoys his retirement at Meadowland.
Pixel was part of a horse show that once toured through Jorvik. When the show came to an end, George took him in — and since no buyer was ever found, he remained at Meadowland.
Richy came to the ranch as a foal and is now used as a working horse with a high level of training.
Rune arrived at the ranch as an orphan foal and was raised by a foster mare. He is still in training and will later be sold as a trail or leisure horse.
Steel came to Meadowland together with Pixel after a horse show. Since no buyer could be found for him either, he stayed at the ranch and became a working horse.
